The story of Canada Goose: from the Far North to urban fashion

From the Arctic to the streets of the world

Canada Goose is much more than just a winter clothing brand. It's a Canadian legend, born in the freezing cold of Toronto in 1957, that has conquered the world thanks to its exceptional craftsmanship and resistance to extreme temperatures.
The origins: 1957-1980
It all began in 1957, when Sam Tick founded Metro Sportswear Ltd. in Toronto. At the time, the company manufactured jackets, vests and snowmobile suits to cope with Canada's harsh winters.

In 1972, his son-in-law David Reiss joined the company and began developing technical parkas for extreme conditions. This marked the beginning of a revolution.
Innovation: Arctic Tech® fabric
In the 1980s, Canada Goose developed its iconic fabric: Arctic Tech®. This blend of polyester and cotton offers exceptional resistance to wind, water and cold, while remaining breathable.

This fabric quickly became the brand's signature and allowed Canada Goose to stand out from the competition.
The Conquest of the Poles: 1990-2000
In the 1990s, Canada Goose became the official supplier to scientists and explorers in Antarctica. Canada Goose parkas accompanied the most extreme polar expeditions, proving their reliability in conditions where temperatures can drop as low as -50°C.

This scientific recognition gives the brand unparalleled credibility.
The media explosion: 2000-2010
In the early 2000s, Canada Goose began appearing in Hollywood films. Outdoor film crews adopted the parkas for their warmth and durability.

Then, celebrities started wearing Canada Goose in the city. Kate Upton, Drake, Daniel Craig... The brand became a symbol of urban luxury.
Globalization: 2010-present
In 2013, Dani Reiss (David's son) became CEO and accelerated international expansion. Canada Goose opened stores in New York, London, Tokyo, Paris...

The brand is becoming a global phenomenon, driven by influencers, stars and urban fashion enthusiasts.

Today, Canada Goose is synonymous with quality, performance, and style.
